Paul Unbehagen has over 20 years of experience in a broad range of network protocols and solutions. His professional history provides him with a well-versed background in creating technology used from the US Military, to large enterprises and startups. Driven by the belief that multiple perspectives offers insight otherwise left undiscovered; he has been able to bring innovation and continuous contributions to modern routing protocols including: MPLS, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, SPB; and co-author of IEEE 802.1aq Shortest Path Bridging, in both the IEEE and IETF. With numerous patents granted and pending, Paul continues to challenge the industry to build networks for the future.

Mike Stolarchuk

Distinguished Engineer
Michael has more than 45 years of experience in software development. Before joining Big Switch he worked at VMware on the networking team, LoudCloud in the monitoring team, Network Flight Recorder, Internet Security Systems, and the University of Michigan. He has authored papers in distributed file systems, and has won best paper awards at Usenix. He holds an M.S. and B.S. from the University of Michigan. He joined Big Switch to help push networking to an API model.

Andreas Wundsam

Distinguished Engineer
Andreas is a Distinguished Engineer and the Control Plane Architect at Big Switch Networks. He has been with Big Switch Networks since 2012, and has architected or co-architected all major distributed systems in use at the company, including the company's patented control plane technology VFT/Fabric Sync. Prior, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at ICSI and UC Berkeley, where he did research on Architecture and Troubleshooting for software-defined networks. He also has more than 15 years of experience as a leading Software Engineer and Architect, at Big Switch, Databricks and other companies. Andreas holds a Ph.D. from TU Berlin. His research has received more than 1000 citations in total. He also holds several patents in the space.

Shudong Zhou

Distinguished Engineer
Shudong Zhou has been with Big Switch since 2011. He is a pioneer in software-defined networking and creator of Big Monitoring Fabric. Prior to Big Switch, he worked at VMware and was an architect and implementer of the VMware Distributed Switch. He also worked on the Solaris Operating System for many years, specializing in kernel IO and boot subsystem. He holds a Ph.D. in Astrophysics and 15 patents in computer systems and networking.
